ENERGIA contributed to the identification of gender issues that limit women’s participation in the energy sector. It also helped expand the knowledge of gender roles assigned to men and women in the energy sector through case studies, research and papers. ENERGIA acknowledged the need to build a stronger evidence base to promote gender equality and translate this evidence into messages for policy and practice.
The resource center was the initial step towards collecting all relevant studies, publications and research papers within the sector and facilitating their dissemination. Together with the website, ENERGIA aimed to raise awareness and share qualitative and quantitative information on the gender issue in energy with individuals, decision-makers and organisations. Information was still made available in a printed form for people working and living in areas with poor internet connection. This resource center is still active today and can be found on our website.
